Download a bank statement template that matches Kumry’s statement import, and use the setup guides to bring across your chart of accounts and opening balances.
Use this to load bank transactions, including history from before you started with Kumry. Kumry's statement import also reads OFX and QIF files straight from your bank.
When you upload a file, Kumry shows a preview and lets you confirm which column is which, so your bank's own CSV layout works too. A file with separate Debit and Credit columns instead of one Amount column is fine.
Replace the example rows with your own. You can also record the statement's closing balance and date during import so the reconciliation has a figure to agree to.

Chart of accounts
Coming from Xero or QuickBooks Online? The import brings your chart of accounts across as it is, so you start from the structure you already know. Starting fresh? Set up your accounts in Kumry and choose the GST codes your business needs.
An import from Xero carries your full history and is reconciled to the cent against the source trial balance. An import from QuickBooks Online brings your chart of accounts, contacts and transaction history. Either way, opening balances come from the books themselves rather than being re-keyed.
