Work across client files from one console, and show how each number was reached
For your practice
- A practice console across your client files
- Delegated access each client grants, time-boxed and logged
- Advisor codes so clients can bring your practice in
- Signed migration certificates when a client switches
- BAS figures traceable to their transactions
What the work involves
The work of a practice, and where Kumry fits
See every client in one place
The practice console lists your clients, their engagements and compliance obligations, with workpapers alongside. A status sweep reads each consenting client’s unreconciled bank lines, overdue invoices and last closed period in one pass.In Kumry: Practice console
Get into a client’s file without their password
The client issues an advisor code and gives it to you; you redeem it, the client accepts, and you open their books from the console. Access is time-boxed, and the client can end it whenever they choose. In Kumry: Advisor codes · Delegated access
Review what was posted
Each posting records who approved it and when. Each posted entry is linked to the one before it, so a later change would show up, and the audit history shows who did what in the file.In Kumry: Ledger · Audit history
Prepare BAS you can defend
Kumry prepares each client’s GST and BAS figures and every amount opens to the transactions behind it. You lodge as their registered agent. In Kumry: GST summary · Activity statement workpaper
Move clients across with evidence
Import a client from Xero, reconciled to the cent against the source trial balance, and keep the signed migration certificate recording what moved and what was flagged. From QuickBooks Online, bring a client’s chart of accounts, contacts and transaction history. In Kumry: Data migration · Certificates
Keep your practice in control
Staff sign in as themselves, never with a client’s password. Deactivating a staff member ends their client access, and your practice can end an engagement from the console. In Kumry: Practice console · Staff
How it works
A walkthrough
How it works · an illustrative walkthrough, not a customer story
A bookkeeping practice onboarding a new client
A small practice taking on a trades business that has kept its books in Xero.
- 1
Connect
The client issues an advisor code in Kumry and sends it to the practice, which redeems it; the client then accepts the engagement.
- 2
Import
The bookkeeper imports the client’s books from Xero through a read-only connection, with a freeze checklist while it runs.
- 3
Reconcile
Kumry reconciles the import to the cent against the source trial balance and lists the exceptions it could not bring across cleanly.
- 4
Certify
A signed migration certificate is issued, recording what moved and what was flagged; the practice files it with the workpapers.
- 5
Carry on
Each quarter the bookkeeper reviews the client’s postings, prepares the BAS in Kumry and lodges it as the client’s agent.
The client file starts with a reconciled opening position and a certificate that records how it was reached.

Lodgement
Kumry prepares GST and BAS figures from your transactions. You, or your registered tax or BAS agent, review and lodge them with the ATO. This is general information, not tax advice.
Delegated access
How access to a client’s books works
| Question | How Kumry handles it |
|---|---|
| Who starts it | The client issues a one-time advisor code from their settings and gives it to your practice. You redeem it in the practice console. |
| Access level | You name the level you need when you redeem the code: read-only, or standard access to work in the books. |
| Who grants it | The client. Nothing is granted until they accept, and they can end it at any time. |
| How long it lasts | Access is time-boxed rather than open-ended. |
| What is recorded | Work done for a client is logged as delegated access, and the client sees which advisers can open their books. |
| Passwords | Never shared. Each person in your practice signs in as themselves. |
