Switch to Kumry and bring your history with you
Move from Xero or QuickBooks Online without starting from a blank ledger. From Xero, Kumry imports your books, reconciles them to the cent against your old system, and gives you a signed certificate of what moved. From QuickBooks Online, Kumry brings your chart of accounts, contacts and transaction history.
How the move works
- 1
Connect your current system
Connect Kumry to Xero or QuickBooks Online. The connection is read-only: Kumry reads your books and never writes anything back.
- 2
Choose what to bring across
Pick what to import, from your chart of accounts and contacts through to invoices, bills, payments, bank transactions and journals. Kumry shows what each choice depends on, so nothing arrives without the records it needs.
- 3
Pause your old system and import
Confirm a short checklist that you have stopped working in your old system, so nothing changes while Kumry imports. If something changes anyway, a final check picks it up and tells you. A long import can be paused and resumed.
- 4
Reconcile to the cent
For a Xero import, Kumry checks the imported books against the trial balance from your old system, to the cent, and lists anything it could not bring across cleanly so you can decide what to do with it.
- 5
Keep the certificate
For a Xero import, Kumry issues a signed migration certificate recording what moved and what was flagged, for you and your accountant to keep with your records.
What comes across from Xero
The Xero import is built to carry your books as they are, so your reports in Kumry pick up where Xero left off.
- Chart of accounts and tax rates
- Tracking categories
- Customers and suppliers
- Products and services
- Invoices, bills and credit notes
- Payments, overpayments and prepayments
- Bank transactions and transfers
- Manual journals
- Opening balances
- Quotes and purchase orders
What comes across from QuickBooks Online
Your chart of accounts, contacts and transaction history: accounts, contacts, products, invoices, bills, payments, bank transactions and journals. Quotes, purchase orders, repeating transactions, fixed assets, projects and history notes stay in QuickBooks.
Flagged, not hidden
Real books have rough edges: a contact with no details, a transaction that does not balance, a record the source will not hand over. For a Xero import, Kumry lists each one on the migration result and on the certificate, so you and your accountant can resolve them deliberately.
